Privacy Policy

Fairways ("we," "our," or "us") is built by Zach Kohut. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Fairways app.

Information We Collect

When you create an account and use Fairways, we collect:

• Account information — name, username, email address, phone number (optional), date of birth, gender, and optionally a profile photo
• Golf data — scores, courses played, handicap index, round formats, and tee selections you enter into the app
• Social data — posts, comments, likes, groups, and direct messages you create or send, including any photos or videos you choose to upload (such as swing videos for Caddie AI analysis)
• Device information — device type and operating system, used to ensure the app works correctly
• Push notification tokens — if you enable notifications, we store a device token with Apple to deliver them. You can disable this anytime in your device or app settings.
• Contacts (optional) — if you grant permission, we access your contacts solely to help you find friends already on Fairways. Contact data is matched against registered accounts and is never stored on our servers.
• Sign-in providers (optional) — if you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address from that provider to create or link your account.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the Fairways app and its features
• To calculate and display your handicap index
• To connect you with other golfers on the platform
• To send you notifications about rounds, messages, and activity (only if you opt in)
• To respond to your support requests

Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with third parties for advertising purposes.

Your profile, posts, and round activity are visible to other Fairways users based on your privacy settings. If you set your account to private, only your approved followers can see your activity.

We use Supabase to store your data securely. Supabase is SOC 2 compliant and stores data on encrypted servers.

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. Subscription purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's privacy policy. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but not your payment details.

We use AI services to generate Caddie AI insights after your rounds, and — if you're a Fairways Pro subscriber and choose to use it — to analyze swing videos you upload. Round data and swing video frames sent for these purposes are not stored or used for training by the AI provider.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the email below.

Children's Privacy

Fairways is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Opt out of email communications at any time via account settings

Copyright (DMCA)

If you believe content on Fairways infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent at myfairways.app@gmail.com including: (1) a description of the copyrighted work, (2) the URL or location of the material within the app, (3) your contact information, (4) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized, and (5) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act on the copyright owner's behalf. We will remove or disable access to infringing material and may terminate accounts of repeat infringers.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure database storage. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of Fairways after changes means you accept the updated policy.
